“When you look around today, anyone involved in building science should be proud of the amazing accomplishments with voluntary high-performance home programs, rigorous energy codes, and increased consumer interest. This all begins with outstanding education, and no organization has been at it longer or more effectively than ACI. Their combination of passion and competence delivering state-of-the-art content is unsurpassed.” Sam Rashkin, National Director, ENERGY STAR® for Homes

“Affordable Comfort is the finest training conference for building science, for building as a system, energy efficiency, that there is in the country. That’s just hands down. You will never find such a gathering of knowledgeable people that are happy to talk with you, that you can network with and get to know.” Doug Garrett, Building Science Consultant, Building Performance and Comfort, Inc.

“I never miss Affordable Comfort. I come here because this is the center of my industry. I come here to find out what is going on with my colleagues and my customers, and I come to see my friends. If I didn’t really have access to the industry like I do here at Affordable Comfort, I’d be going back to work not really knowing what to do when I wake up in the morning.” Chris Dorsi, Author & Publisher, Saturn Resource Management

If you live in Colorado or the surrounding region…

This is your event.

Share information. Network with your peers. Exchange ideas. Advance your career.

It’s all here at ACI.

Has anyone meet the challenge of explaining the difference in HERS scores to a customer – What does it mean when they score a “73″ and their neighbor scored a “62″?

I’m working with builders that want to follow my advice an upgrade their building practices, but everything has a cost attached to it. It is difficult to convinced the buyer to pay the associated cost without an “easy to understand” explanation of what the lower score equates to.

I can bring up the IECC code house and it saves “x” % more than that home, but this doesn’t connect with the customer with what that means to their additional cost.

If someone has conquered this challenge, I would appreciate them sharing their explanation.

Thanks…enjoy your day!
